Peter Schube

President & COO

Peter Schube is President and Chief Operating Officer of The Jim Henson Company. Based in Los Angeles, Mr. Schube oversees all day-to-day operations and worldwide business activities for the Company. He is responsible for devising and implementing the Company's strategic direction and for guiding its integrated businesses. All of the Company's operating divisions, including its award-winning character and design division, Jim Henson's Creature Shop™, report to him, as do all sales, finance and human resources functions.

Mr. Schube was appointed to his current position by the Henson family upon their re-acquisition of JHC in 2003. Upon assuming the position, he re-cast the Company's business, architecting a wide reaching corporate reorganization and entering into a number of strategic relationships designed to maximize both the Company's existing asset value and its new production capabilities. With those in place, he focused the Company's efforts on developing the Henson Digital Puppetry Studio, its patented digital animation technology and companion studio that has expanded the Company's global commitment to, and leadership in, excellence and innovation in the areas of digital animation and design.

Mr. Schube has successfully raised more than $50MM in third party production financing and corporate underwriting. Secured from public, private, and philanthropic organizations, these funds have been used to finance the Company's expanded production activities, including the Emmy®-nominated PBS science preschool series, "Sid the Science Kid," as well as "Dinosaur Train," the #1 rated preschool series in the U.S. and abroad. Materially increasing the size and breadth of the Company's television library, these efforts have also enabled the Company to re-build its in-house distribution and consumer products groups, contributing to a 250% increase in the Company's top line revenues.

Mr. Schube joined The Jim Henson Company in 1988. Prior to being named president, he served as Executive Vice President of Business Affairs and General Counsel, where he oversaw all of the business and legal affairs for the Company's worldwide operations including its film and television production and distribution activities, all copyright and trademark enforcement and prosecution, and the management of all litigation in which the Company was involved.

Mr. Schube received degrees in History and English from Wesleyan University [from which he received a Distinguished Alumnus award in 2006], and a Juris Doctor from New York University Law School. He currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two sons and serves on the boards of Oakwood School, an independent school in North Hollywood, and Heart of Los Angeles Youth [HOLA], an academic, arts and athletics enrichment organization for at-risk youth in Los Angeles.
